At American Dress, we design and produce all our sweaters following the official sizing standards for the United States, Europe, and the United Kingdom. We understand that sizes vary between regions, so we provide clear conversions and detailed measurements to help you choose the perfect fit for your body type and local standard.

HOW TO MEASURE YOURSELF CORRECTLY

To ensure the best fit, follow these simple steps before choosing your size:

CHEST: Measure around the fullest part of your chest, keeping the tape comfortably loose.
WAIST: Measure around your natural waistline, which is the narrowest part of your torso, usually above the belly button.
HIPS: Measure around the fullest part of your hips and bottom.
SHOULDER WIDTH: Measure from the tip of one shoulder to the tip of the other, across your back.
SLEEVE LENGTH: Measure from the shoulder seam down to your wrist bone.

We recommend comparing these measurements with the specific table shown on each product page, as designs can vary (regular fit, slim fit, or oversized).

PRODUCT MEASUREMENT GUIDE

Every product page on americandress.co includes a specific measurement table for that sweater. All measurements are taken with the garment laid flat, unstretched, and measured in centimeters (cm) and inches (in).

Regular Fit: Standard cut, comfortable and not too tight — fits true to size.
Slim Fit: More adjusted to the body — if you prefer more space, we recommend choosing one size up.
Oversized Fit: Loose and wide cut — designed to be larger than your usual size.
Stretch Fabric: Knits and soft materials that have elasticity — these usually adapt well to different body shapes.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

Manual Measurement Difference: Please allow a small difference of 1 – 3 cm (0.4 – 1.2 inches) in measurements. This is normal in clothing production and is not considered a defect.
Color and Texture: Images are for reference only. Slight variations in color or texture may occur due to lighting during photoshoots or screen display differences, but this does not affect the size or quality of the item.
Fabric Behavior: Some natural fibers (like wool or cotton) may have minimal changes after washing, following the care instructions provided on the label.

EXCHANGES FOR SIZE ISSUES

If you receive an item and it does not fit as expected, you can request an exchange within 7 DAYS after delivery, according to our Return & Exchange Policy:

You must contact us within this period and keep the item unused, unwashed, and with all tags attached.
If you chose the wrong size based on your preference, you will be responsible for the shipping costs of the exchange.
If the item measurement is significantly different from what was described on our website, we will cover all costs and solve the issue immediately.

CARE AND SIZING

To keep your sweater in the right size and shape for a long time:

Always follow the washing and care instructions found on the internal label of the product.
Avoid washing in very hot water or drying at high temperatures, as this can cause shrinkage or stretching.
Do not use bleach or harsh chemicals that can damage the fabric structure.
